Transfer tax amendment for 2021

The new law that would exempt first time home buyers younger than 35 years old as per 2021 most likely will have an additional criteria added to it. Yesterday (November 12) The Dutch house of representatives has accepted an amendment that would rule out home buyers that are buying a home with a value of more than €400,000. Since the initial law change was widely communicated a while ago and plenty of home buyers changed their transfer dates based on the previous criteria the new added criteria will only be in effect as per April 01st 2021. For the law to be officially accepted it still has to go through the Dutch senate. It’s unlikely for it not to pass there though.
